Another exciting milestone for the GreenMED project was achieved through participation in the “Innovation Initiatives for Decarbonization in the Mediterranean,” held at Valencia Port on February 11th, 2025. Organized by our esteemed partners at Fundación Valenciaport, this event brought together key initiatives, including WestMED, POSEIDON, SEAFAIRER, POWER4MED, BlueBARGE Project, ARSINOE, and SEANERGY Project, to explore groundbreaking solutions for decarbonizing the Mediterranean.
The discussions and results shared during the event provided valuable feedback and insights, emphasizing the need for collaboration between industry, academia, and policymakers to develop a holistic approach to the demanding challenges of maritime decarbonisation, especially at a regional level. As part of the event, GreenMED hosted a dedicated session that highlighted our vision for the MSSO, and showcased progress made on energy demand and supply chain mapping across both shores of the Mediterranean. This session also included an engaging foresight workshop, fostering meaningful interaction and collaboration with stakeholders. Additionally, the project’s plenary meeting was held on the same day, serving as a platform to discuss feedback, track project progress, and outline next steps, including updates to the MSSO website and advancements in the tool’s functionalities.
