NTUA participated on the 2nd Union for the Mediterranean Stakeholder Conference on Sustainable Blue Economy, on February 19th-20th, 2024, which took place in Athens, Greece, and was hosted by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs & Insular Policy. Representatives from the participating countries gathered to explore active measures and solutions to enhance sustainability in the Mediterranean region. The conference demonstrated the crucial role of collaboration and knowledge exchange in developing the region’s sustainable development and economic growth! GreenMED played an active role in the conference workshops, focusing on key topics such as zero-pollution maritime transport, ports, and marine renewable energies. These workshops provided invaluable insights that will significantly enhance our ongoing studies and inform the next steps of the GreenMED project. The opportunity to engage with experts and stakeholders from various sectors further enriched our understanding of the current landscape and the innovative solutions necessary for a sustainable future. The conference not only facilitated the sharing of best practices but also strengthened partnerships among Mediterranean countries, paving the way for collaborative efforts toward a sustainable blue economy. GreenMED remains committed to contributing to these initiatives, leveraging the knowledge gained from this conference to drive forward the GreenMED project and its objectives.
